Pro Tip (sorry, it had to be said)
At earlier levels you should focus spending your stat points toward dealing damage while relying on armor/items and potions for health, defense or mana. Instead of wasting the small amount of stat points you gain every level you should try to obtain the required stats by purchasing or farming items that have the added stats and equip them to your paperdoll when you're off to obtain a spell. Also, don't forget that currently any class can use any spell regardless of the spell's class requirement. The class requirement only needs to be considered when obtaining spells.
For example you could spend all your stat points in STR as a warrior for high damage but change your class at the Wise Man to magician, equip items that contain the stats required for Small Fire and change back to a warrior class after you've obtained the spell. Most of you are bashing your head in from reading this but a few of you new players might appreciate the information. It's a lot easier to Google a short article to obtain knowledge rather than asking a fellow player, as most of you are assholes.
